MILITARY WOMEN-IN REMEMBRANCE OF THE FALLEN PT1

With the help of an editor of an Illinois newspaper, in early 2005, this personal project began with printing out photos of fallen military personnel from the State of Illinois, and posting those photos in my work cubicle.

Putting faces to the numbers of those killed in the Persian Gulf and Afghanistan was a reminder of how precious life is, and how brave America’s military men and women are.

My personal project was postponed in mid 2006 do to other priorities. The editor continued to work in conjunction with other newspapers and together, a website for all of the fallen from across America was made possible.

In Remembrance is intended as a place to remember and honor American service members lost in Afghanistan and Iraq. There is a profile for each service member based on available information, and obituaries received from newspaper affiliates are included.

This project is limited to those women who have died in the Persian Gulf, Iraq and Afghanistan while on active duty.

Parts 1 and 2  consist of those military women whose home States are Alabama through Massachusetts.

Part 2 can be viewed at

Parts 3 and 4  consist of those military women from the States of Michigan through Wyoming and Puerto Rico.
