Everyone knows that the anti-government, red shirts have withdrawn and gone home... Let's hope it is for good.

Some of the key leaders were arrested, their figurehead, fugitive Thaksin has his passport revoked and a new arrest warrent issued according to the news.  Hopefully he will be caught and face trial for what some consider acts of treason.

The level of anarchy nearly pushed the city and country into another bloody event.  The torched buses, guns, molotovs and the propane tank bombs hidden along the streets were not part of some "civil disobedience" campaign.  They were meant to create and much disruption and incite a violent response.  The current government should be proud and the restraint shown is admirable.

So now it is back to business as usual in BKK.  But here are a few final images (cleaned up a little).

Fortunately, the woman that you see in the first pic was unharmed.  She was trying to escape the exchange between red shirts and local residents when someone from the red shirt mob hurled a firebomb at her.  It broke on the street, next to the curb inches from her which probably saved her life.
