Why the Razor Wire at a Welcome Center?
Entering New Mexico from Arizona on I-40 gives travelers beautiful scenic views. So why does the Mannelito Welcome Center need razor wire on top of a fence behind its building and along the parking lot? The fence sends a hostile message in contrast to the abundant rows of brochures and invitations to visit attractions available at the Welcome Center. It obstructs photos of the scenery too. Any explainations? Maybe just a bit offbeat!
