    I was treated terribly

    As a child, I suffered from a disfiguring disease: hyperthyroidism.  My eyes bulged, so I was known as "bug eyes".  I was ridiculed, rejected, spit at, pushed, beaten...exiled from humanity.  The scars have lasted for over fifty years.
