    I cant sweat, any advice?

my name is Brandon and I am originally from  Trinidad. I came to the US in 2004 and ever since I came here I have never  sweated. I was diagnosed with  anhydrosis when I joined the US NAVY in  2007.  anhydrosis is the failure of the sweat glands, it is mostly found in  horses but very few humans have too and unfortunately one of them is me. its is  very difficult living with this disease not only because there is no known cure  but the simple fact that it feels like you are getting stung by 3000 bees at  once. to make through a simple day I have to keep my body cool so I wouldn’t go  into a heat stroke, to do this I try to stay indoors in the air-condition but  since I work for the US NAVY I am outside a lot. There was one incident where I  fainted because my body's core temperature got too high. some techniques I also  use is tying a an icepack around my back to withdraw some of the heat from my  body (doesn’t really work well....lol). I have earned the nickname iguana - boy  since we go through the same thing to stay alive.

I once had to rush into a public restroom to put  cold water on my back and legs because I was itching so badly because I wasn’t  able to sweat and my core temperature was really high. this works pretty well  but some people think I am crazy when they see me doing this, and they think I  am even crazier when I explain the disease to them.

I think my anhydrosis is caused by the change of the food I eat and the atmosphere in the USA, some people even think its the water. All the tests from my doctor came back negative so we have no idea whats going on. I sometimes wonder if going back to my country will make me sweat but that not an option for me right now because I love serving in the US military.

But this never made me give up on hope, I have  learned how to make it through summer and winter is my favorite season since the  human body doesn’t really get that hot. it is said that anhydrosis comes and  goes within 4 years so hopefully I have a few more years left of it, until then  I have to try to stay cool.
