    How does your garden grow?

Our Humble Garden - feeding ourselves

We try to grow a lot of the veggies we eat. Its not hard in some ways and really hard in others. The not hard part = plants really do want to grow - give them attention and zero chemicals - give them beneficial neighbors, and they will grow. Hard is how to grow and store enough food to stretch the summer harvest to the whole year! We grow organically and sustainably here in MA. We blog about it at http://humblegarden.com/ See how we built our raised beds here (photos) http://flickr.com/photos/nika7k/sets/72157600218530516/ You can visit a video-tour of the 2007 garden at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vplFPlWHpig We also keep a flock of laying chickens and some dairy goats for milk. No we are not from farming backgrounds! We live in the exurbs of Boston. I think everyone should learn how to grow their own food on some level (containers on the fire escape to a full garden)
