South Africa Election 2009
A mate and I traveled to 3 different voting stations in and around Johannesburg South Africa to experience the elections first hand, our first stop was in Soweto, (picture 1&2) Here voters are queuing to cast there vote, the mood here was jovial and people where waiting patiently to vote.
Picture 3&4, queues are longer here and Jobert park in down town Johannesburg makes a very pleasant location for voters, some voters have waited for up to four (4) hours to make their mark.
The final destination was Alexandra a big township East of JHB where more eager voters were queuing well after sunset, (pictures 5 to 9)
Our experience was pleasant, speaking to voters and finding what South Africans think about our fledgling democracy.
