    More from Damin

Government Sit back and watch while People die

    Are you a mother?

Do you have precious, sweetheart, lovely baby with you?

Is she/he still playing: jumping rope, seesaw, merry-go-round, swingset and slide, climber and walking?

Do they still have energy to play all these? Wow.

Are they still calling you when they need help "mom...mom...mom"?

    Are you feeding them well?

I bet you are the happiest person in the world if your answers are "yes" if you children are happy, if they are getting what they deserve.

However, the answers are "No" in most part of African nations specially Ethiopia.

Children run out of energy even to say "mom...mom...mom" let alone playing.

Mom cannot help them. Not because she is not nice but she did not have nothing to feed them. She did not even have anything to feed herself and breast feed them. Mothers always pay all scarifies including involvement into sin for their children. Mom steals from neighbors when she has to. But not anymore, there is no neighbor to steal from everybody in the area is equal poor.

Is Dad home? Yes he is.

What is he waiting for when the children and mother cry for help and eventually dying?

Dad who used to fill bins with all kind of food: Barely, Teff, Wheat, Corn, Bean, Pea, Lettuce, Tomatoes and Onion, does not know what to do with an unexpected drought. He is trying his best but could not have power to fight with climate change

This was time -June and October- when he used to bring in all those good kind of staffs. This used to be the time when family gathered around and have fun. This was the time when money for school saved. This was the time when money for over counter pain killer, the only available medicine in most part of the country is affordable. This was the time when young people met their beloved once and play. That time is gone. Dad could not bring those days back either.

Is there any government in the country who cares for people? I doubt it.

Does the government care about it? He may act like he is?

He is using famine as weapon on his own people, unbelievable. Zenewi, is using tactic that emperor Haile Selassie used during the great Ethiopian famine, but specifically targeted Tigray opponents. While the climate condition in average the same in the country, why some regions especially Oromia is under worst crisis. Is God helping them but not Oromia? I will leave the answer to you. If you are pro-Zenewi's administrations you might say yes God is torturing Oromia, but if you are objective thinker you know the truth.

When an international and local people wittiness an warn the country to pay attention to the situation before it get worst from bad, the so called Prime Ministry of the country Meles is denying. He even claimed the economy is in speedy growth. Shame! Argaw Ashine in his article "Famine ravages nation but dictator talks of 10% growth" stated that "However, speaking in Parliament on Tuesday, Ethiopian Prime Minster Meles Zenawi downplayed the situation in Borana, saying it was simply due to ‘failure of the mid-year (meher) rains and will not affect our speedy economic growth'"(ethiomedia.com).

On the other hand international news like CNN and BBC reported the horror. "Between 10 and nearly 20 percent of Ethiopia's children are malnourished -- 15 percent is considered a critical situation. In 2006, Ethiopia had 13.4 million children under the age of five, according to UNICEF," CNN news Cited local and international aid and health workers.

Please help is need in this part of the world. Listen to our voice too. Even if you cannot help financially please contribute an ideas and thought that might change the ignorant leader.
