Best South Dakota BBQ
Having lived in Georgia and traveled the country, I'm picky about my BBQ. Few places north of Kansas City or Memphis can honestly satisfy a "Q craving" for me.
2 years ago a small yellow shack appeared in the parking lot of the Runnings Farm Supply store in Brookings, South Dakota.
I'm always willing to try a new BBQ place, so I ordered the pulled pork sandwich with a side of cole slaw for a topping and soon bit into the best pulled pork I'd had since leaving Georgia. For a side dish, the homemade Q & Beans can't be beat.
The following year, the shack moved closer to the highway leading into town and business has boomed. The "official Q season" starts when the smoker in pulled up to the shack and fired up in early May. The BBQ Shack is open from early May through "decent weather" in the Fall.
If you're traveling through South Dakota on I-29, be sure to pull off at the Brookings exit for the best BBQ in the South (Dakota) and tell Al that William sent you.
