A Message from Binghamton University Health Service
A male resident student at Binghamton University has been identified as a possible suspect case of the swine flu. Additional investigation continues to determine if the student meets the criteria for suspect cases. Appropriate alternate housing has been provided to the student who will be returning home. The University will continue to follow its established protocols and monitor the situation both locally and nationally.
“This is a rapidly changing situation,” said New York State Health Commissioner Richard Daines on Tuesday, who was quoted at a news conference as saying that investigations into cases of H1N1 flu virus (known as swine flu) are underway in all regions of the state. “We have investigations underway in Chautauqua County … Cortland County … Monroe County. We have been informing doctors, hospitals and health care institutions – 2,500 of them on a basis twice a day…”
