Signs of the economic times |
When Joe the Plumber came to my town...
Friday, May 1st, Joe Wurzelbacher came to speak to a group of people in my town. Everyone had gathered in the in the center of downtown at Pennsylvania Park. This was an organized "T.E.A. Party" protesting taxes and what seemed like the Obama Administration in general.
Not only were there people protesting taxes, there were also those who were present to support the policies put in place by the Obama Administration as well as people protesting the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. Students (from both the college and high school), teachers, business owners, and Girl Scouts were all in attendance.
After Joe was done speaking he asked a few students to stay after (the individuals holding signs that read "My taxes went down!", courtesy of college student Andy Grandstaff, and other signs closely related to the same views.)
