Riding the Rails Toronto to Vancouver Song Train
First of 3 parts of the Songwriter Train 2008 trip from Toronto to Vancouver. The trip featured the Flatlanders and Tom Russell who performed on the train daily. On our second day out we arrive in Winnipeg and later look for sheep as the scenery flies by the windows in the dome car.
There were also concerts at either end, the final one in Vancouver on November 14, the day we arrived. The trip was one of the Roots on the Rails adventures, organized by Flying Under the Radar.
There were approximately seven cars resereved on the train for the Song Train, and those included sleepers, dining, performance and lounge cars in addition to the dome. In the fall, there will be another trip, this time to the American Southwest.
This video has been edited down considerably to meet the maximum file allowed on iReports. Look for parts 2 and 3 soon.
