This iReport is part of an assignment:
Black in America: Your roots |
The Secret in the Soil
Born in 1894 Walter Davenport married Elizabeth Fielder in Wedowee, Alabama of that union 9 children were born one being my father Franklin Davenport.
Born in 1884 Riley Pulley married Bertha Taborn of that union 11 children were born. The eldest was my Grandmother Leatha Ann who married George D. Hughes in Palestine, Arkansas. That union bore one child my mother Future (Hughes) Davenport.
This video illustrates the Davenport family tree's roots in the south--later taking form in Battle Creek, Michigan. Woven throughout this journey is the underlying theme of how we are all connected as one human family.
