This iReport is part of an assignment:
Interview your mom |
Why this Mothers Day will be different.
I think we take life for granted way too much. I know my mother isn’t perfect, yet I realize she did the best she could. I don’t get to see her all that often; I think at this time, it has been over a year since I have spent time with her in person, but I do call her at least once a week.
But this year will be different.
Some friends called me yesterday who asked if I would go visit their mother with them. I said sure, why not. You see, their mother passed away a few years ago. They are going to put flowers on her grave and reflect on what she had done for them while she was still alive.
So this year, I am going to wait and call till after I go with my friends to the graveyard. Maybe now I can learn not to take those I love and care about for granted.
