    Trekker's 50th Birthday Party at movie

    I celebrated my 50th birthday at the new Star Trek movie with a dozen friends at the Cinema Suites at the AMC 30 theaters in Olathe, Kansas on Saturday, May 9th. This theater has waiter service and we all dined while enjoying the new Star Trek movie.

     

    After the movie we all went to the "MacGuffins" bar in the theater for dessert and drinks. Everyone received party favors in little popcorn bags with Star Trek pins, buttons and rings included along with movie candy.

     

    Everyone sang "Happy Birthday" including the other bar patrons who received a round of drinks from me in appreciation. The bar had special Star Trek drinks called "Enterprise" (a green drink) and "Captain’s Chair" (a blue drink).

     

    The guests all said they enjoyed the movie. My wife Staci even wore a Star Trek Voyager communicator pin to commemorate the occasion and said she was surprised how much she like the movie (and she is not a Star Trek fan).

     

    All in all, I cannot imagine a more fun way to spend my 50th birthday!
