American Expo, Paris
Bois de Boulogne, Paris
A two week exposition in the large park at the limits of Paris, filled with the most obvious icons of American culture but also some of the most sublime, including the original model of the Statue of Liberty whose permanent home is the Luxembourg Gardens also in Paris.
Photo #2 is the original bronze model used in the creation of the Statue of Liberty that stands outside NYC. It is 15 feet tall and according to art historians the face of the statue was inspired by the the French designer's mother.
The expo presents the fondness most French have for America and Americans and is well-expressed by the Frenchman in the video #10.
