Gaza Medical Mission: First International Ships to Enter Port of Gaza in 41 Years
Two clandestine Greek ships on a medical mission from the U.S. entered the Port of Gaza last August to help Palestinians suffering from lack of health care services. They were the first international ships to enter the Port of Gaza in 41 years. Bill Dienst, a physician from Omak, WA was among the volunteers who risked their lives and detention to aid the Palestinian people of the Gaza Strip.
I had to edit out much of what Bill shared with us at a Mother's Day Peace Walk and rally on the Canadian border north of Oroville, WA on Sunday. 40,000 Palestinians welcomed the aid workers with open arms and Bill got to see first hand the horrors of the war and what toll it has had on the Palestinians. His message is clear. Israel should recognize Palestine's right to exist.
For more information on the mission check out the Free Gaza Movement.
