Cyber Bullies: AOL Chat Buddy Charged In Stabbing Death

Blogging and sites such as this can get very violent. People do not hold back on their hate and harassing ways of communicating to others.

Bullies feel they can say whatever they want because it's over the computer and no one knows who they are. I read new "cyber-bullying" is being looked into and legislation may come soon.

35-year-old Dennis Raymond (NY) was arrested on charges of second-degree murder. He was known as "Mike" online. He fatally stabbed his AOL chat buddy after she refused to meet him again in person following an initial encounter.

Nimzay Aponte, 23, was killed in a Bronx park Tuesday as she sat with a friend. She told police before she died that "Mike" did it, referring to a person she met on AOL's instant messaging service.

It's easy to get caught up with someone online. Meeting them in person is not wise. In this case she took someone with her and was still murdered.

Trusting anyone online is not easy and everyone should keep all personal information to a limit. Even as far as your name, kids, your personal surroundings (inside home, car, job), your city or even state.

When you reveal information like this, you shouldn't be surprised of stalking and harassing because you put it out there (but of course the person doing it is wrong)

People are crazy on the world wide web and you just never know.
