California Special Election - Low Turnout
May 19, 2009 is the California Statewide Special Election. I have to admit that I received the voter information guide (booklet) weeks ago but forgot it was today. No one was calling me to get me to vote. I don't watch TV (internet only). I happened to drive by the school a block away from my house and noticed the "Polling Place' signs. I grabbed my camera, walked down to the school to vote, and spoke with Ryan Ferrar. Ryan works at the poles as the touch screen technician. He said since this morning, only 30 people have voted. I must have been number 31.
Propositions
+Rainy Day reserve fund
+Supplemental payments for education
+State Lottery
+Early childhood development program funds
+Mental health program funds
+State elected officials' salary increases
