This iReport is part of an assignment:
Calling all super moms |
A glace back at a super mom's year!
My role? Supermom to three teenagers. I am also a wife of 24 years, a full-time executive assistant at a Fortune 100 company, an event planner for the 2009 American Heart Association’s Heart Gala, and a full-time college student at the University of Memphis. Well, at least I was, I graduated on May 9, 2009 with a BA in Communication, summa cum laude.
In the last fourteen months, I have dealt with:
· My son’s college’s tornado disaster, “Mom, what’s FEMA?”
· My sixteen-year-old’s bout with mononucleosis, acute sinus infections and a tonsillectomy.
· Taught my fourteen year-old Adobe Photoshop, okay so he taught me a lot too!
· Eleven college professors lecturing on the most obscure things I will never again need to know, ever!
· Florists, caterers, lighting experts, budget restraints and two band managers, yet still raised $180K for the American Heart Association.
· My husband quitting his full-time job to tutor 75 failing inner-city elementary school kids. No, there is no money involved here. And yes, I will be baking 150 cupcakes tonight for their end of the school year party.
Some people ask, what will you do now with all your spare time since you are graduating. I simply smile and reply, “I really want to go to Disneyland, but will settle for passing the GRE!”
