Croquet Supremacy: Naval Academy vs. Saint John's College
The most unusual college sports event in the nation. The Midshipmen of the United States Naval Academy face off against the students of Saint John's College in singular combat on the CROQUET field. That's right. Croquet. Some describe it as "chess on grass." Take one part music, two parts dance, add a very old school rivalry, and mix it in some champagne and you end up with a spring college tradition to end all college traditions.

Update 5/20/09 9:03 PM EST--The rivalry is 27 years old in Croquet, but the schools have been friendly intellectual rivals since the 1930s. Here is a link to an article on the match that goes into the details. It is from the USNA Alumni Association: https://www.usna.com/SSLPage.aspx?rss=acad_arch&referrer=&pid=7345
