Investment in Education Pays Rich Dividends
I attended my twin sons' Spring Concert last night. As parents, we want to see what our kids are involved in and what they are learning. I've always encouraged them to be involved with music and art as well as academics. I was totally impressed with the job the Watertown Music Department had done with these kids.
As I sat and listened to the 6th Grade Ensemble from Wiley School in Watertown, I was amazed. These kids have been together for only one year. If I didn't know better, I would have thought they were much older for they sang beautifully. They won an award, a gold medal, earlier this year, in a Bi county competition.
The money we spend on our educational system is in most cases well spent. Every child in America should have available an education in academics and the arts that allows them to fulfill their dreams and aspirations. This is an investment that pays rich dividends for this country.
