    More from corteric

    I can't believe what I am reading..

All this torture and Gitmo talk.. Let me put something in perspective for you.

I am a soldier in the U.S. Army, I am. But I am going to tell a story, to prove a point.. Let's say I get deployed this year. My squad is on patrol and we come under fire. Lets say I am wonded, the squad fully killed, but I am detained by  the insrgents. To the base and news, our squad was completely killed. So no one knows I am captured. So... I am tortured, asked questions, beat up, etc. This never makes the news because I become part of the monthly stats of people killed in Iraq. Finally, the saw my head off.

Other than seeing my name on a wall or in a list, everyone back here has no idea that just happened to me.  Family believes I was shot on patrol and rest of nation doesn't know me anyway lol

Ok, so 3 years later, another squad gets in a fire fight with this SAME group of insurgents. it is now known this group is out to get us on our patrols, they know when we are coming and they will kill everyone on that patrol. But this time, the Army squad killed these insurgents, and injured him. Now, since we are not allowed to kill him if he is defensless (even though he just shot at us and killed us), They detain him..

remember, they know this guy has killed members of our unit, but have n idea they tortured me or anything like that.. no one knows that.

As he is captured he keeps making comments about jihad, how "u americans have it coming".. "u wait and see, it wil be big" and "i know your fate, i have planned it" etc etc.

So he is taken as a prisoner of war, and is held at Gitmo. 2 years later, he was waterboarded, pictures of his beard shaved, put with other naked men, not allowed to practic his religion, etc.. THIS all hits the news.

All of a sudden people, like a lot of people on here for some reason, feel bad for this guy! Him standing around naked, apparently, is torture (even though def of torture is inflicting massive pain, etc), and it is so wrong that the president allows this torture! These people should be released to a jail in the U.S. and given a fair trial! Damn Bush (or whoever is in).. how could he condone that!

meanwhile, everyone complaining cause they heard the word "waterboarding" and "torture" has no idea this person has murdered tens of ameican troops.. 20 yr olds, sons, daughter, dads, moms, brothers, etc.. and also tortured me  and chopped my head off AS WELL AS stated our nation has something coming, and HE is gonna kill us all if he can etc etc.. nope, the public doesn't know that. They see a picture of a guy in his boxers with water poored on his face, and think he is being mis treated.

I really can't believe people feel bad for these people. These are not people who ran a red light. These are not guys who were just sitting on their porch and we detained them.  They should be happy to be alive, due to the fact we can't shoot them once they are defensless (out of bullets, wounded, etc)..

This has all been a political move. Obama doesn't realease anything showing that this specific guy actually committed terrorism, or torture, etc.. He won't release anything that shows water boarding may have worked.. nope. He uses the word BUSH, REPUBLICAN, and TORTURE.. .. all in a way to further turn people against Bush and the republican party... a complete poitical move... no one hears about the guy (me in this story) that was tortured and beheaded 3 years prior by the same exact "poor, mistreadted" detainee...

**** I WANT TO BE CLEAR.. I am in no way saying it is ok for us to torture. I am not saying that at all. All I am saying is I can't believe I am reading what sounds likes people feel sorry for these guys!! This makes no sense to me. As far as torture, 3 detainees were water boarded, at the time it was OK to do that, and Cheney swears the evidence will show it worked.. whether it does or not who knows and that is his neck on the line if it doesn't..  But for people to feel bad for these guys....? that's the point of my story. Obama is presenting it as poor guys in jail being tortired.. but these are not "poor innocent guys".. these are cold blooded killers that swear death on any american.. ANd why are we closing gitmo in general??  What is the advantage of closing it? and then bring them here??? where they can recruit in jail, and some even get off and released here! ??!! CITIZENS that break the law go to jail. Prisoners of War go to POW camps. why are we doing this in the first place, and how can anyone feel bad for them? Yes torture, if waterboarding is even torture (it wasn't at the time) should never be done. But that doesn't make these TERRORISTS all of a sudden the victims...******
