Changes for Times Square -- Mayor Bloomberg's Pedestrian Plan Commences
Ch-ch-changes in Times Square
Happy Memorial Day everyone!!!
This is a follow-up to my first story on this issue (http://www.ireport.com/docs/DOC-254783).
This time, however, the proposed changes have taken place in Times Square.
Yesterday, May 24th, Mayor Bloomberg's plan to turn large portions of the Square into a pedestrian mall went into effect.
There have been many stories in the local news today with many different opinions of those changes. From cabbies to tourists to NYPD officers to store owners, everyone seems to think that this switch is one of the best or worst ideas they've ever heard. Regardless of where you fall along that split, there is no refuting that the flavor and fabric of this famous NYC landmark have changed forever.
So, here are the changes I captured this morning all around Times Square.
Time will just have to tell just how great those changes really are...
Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy,
