Magnificient Barcelona
This sprawling, massive city nestled on the Mediterranean coast is unlike any other in Spain; with its decidedly strong Catalan pride, Barcelona fully enraptures each tourist with its sights, sounds, and smells. Whether one treks up to Montjuic to get a bird's-eye-view of the city, or simply wanders the streets on a rainy day, Barcelona never disappoints.
The city is well known for its premier architect of the 20th century, Antoni Gaudi and his most famous works, La Sagrada Familia (the huge, still-unfinished cathedral), Casa Batllo, Casa Mila, and Parc Guell, which are all highlighted here. His glorious visions are an inspiration for all and make this trip a real winner. Another famous resident, Pablo Picasso, is represented here in a wonderful museum that is a must stop on a Barcelona trip. Although the city is full of several museums and cultural landmarks, it is most enjoyed by wandering the streets. Experience the sights of La Rambla, perhaps the world's most famous street, the sights and tastes of the foods in the huge market La Boqueria, or soak up the sun on the Mediterranean beach. This is a city to die for.
