Salute to troops |
SUICIDE is not an option, "2" Semper Fi!
"SALUTATIONS!" Suicide is not an option. Semper Fi –part2
Answering CNN's report on recent suicides in the Military.
(1) This picture of me was taken on the Indian Ocean, aboard the USS SSN Puffer, home ported out of Oahu, Hawaii. (2) I earned these medals over twelve years of faithful service in what were often lonely times. (3) It was an honor to be profiled on CNN for Pearl Harbor Day.
When I served, a Lieutenant hung himself on a Submarine because his wife cheated. A lonely Military Policeman shot himself in the Parking lot. I put my gun in my mouth, when I learned of my first wife’s drug habit, and her infidelity. I got past the pain because of spirituality, and the realization of a higher purpose. I’ve lost a lot in life. I could blame myself, or others, or just be grateful for what I have. By putting God above self, we can not fail, no matter how much we lose. Being called hypocrites, or losers, or anything, or any poison from vipers will not matter. Flesh has no power when pride has limits, and you know that God is right. Only then are you prepared to be wrong, and to be forgiven. Only then is your love for others, a strength, and not a dependancy, a crutch, or a set up for failing standards or morality. I now own my home and have a lot to be happy about. Pictures 3-9. Look at all I would have missed if I'd killed myself. So much fun, and beauty would have been lost. Regardless of the lonely nights and heartbreak, serving the United States was a great honor. I praise God for the opportunity. Live people! Better days are coming. Suicide is not an option. Semper Fi!
