Lt Dan Choi Speaks at Fresno, CA Marriage Equality Rally
Lieutenant Dan Choi speaks at the Meet In The Middle 4 Equality rally in Fresno, CA, reciting an Arabic love poem, illustrates the importance of honesty in love towards a family, discusses why he joined the armed forces because of John F. Kennedy's speech fo asking what we can do for our country, but then tells us that because of "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" LGBT people can not serve their country like their straight brothers and sisters. Lt Dan Choi served in the armed forces for 10 years, specializing as an Arab linguist, before being discharged due to the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" policy because he came out as an openly-gay man as he felt that honesty was integral to him in what he did in his life.
