"My Daddy Ate My Eyes"
That is what 4-year-old Angelo Mendoza Jr. told police. 34 year old Angelo "Angel" Mendoza made his first appearance Friday in Kern County Superior Court, and waived his right to a preliminary hearing.
Mendoza is charged with mayhem, torture and child cruelty in the April 28 attack on his son Angelo Mendoza Jr.
The boy's left eye was bitten out and his right eye damaged and blinded. Police reports say Mendoza then hacked his own legs with an ax.
A family friend says Mendoza had stopped taking his medication and was hearing voices in the month before the incident, according to a family friend.
Police say Mendoza appeared to be under the influence of PCP when he attacked the 4-year-old boy April 28.
Speechless once again on the brutal violence against our kids in America. What in the hell is going on??!!!!!!!!!!
