    In Madison Indiana we take Main Street seriously.  In 1976, Madison was one of  3 cities chosen as a pilot city for the National Main Street Project by The National Trust for Historic Preservation.  Our Main Street is a National Historic District and home to more than 100 shops, B&Bs and businesses.  Madison's Main Street is a vibrant business district attracting thousands of  visitors yearly.  It is truly the heart of the city with activities throughout the year.  Businesses come and go, expand and contract but Madison's Main Street is always the place to be.
