Severe weather |
High Desert Rainstorm
Although only .01 inches of rain fell today at Ridgecrest City Hall, heavier rainfall and lightning around town near sunset created a unique photographic opportunity. The last measureable rainfall recorded locally was February 18th.
According to the National Weather Service office in Hanford, CA as of 5am PDT Wednesday, the next threat for thunderstorms in the area will be Friday. Snow levels will possibly be as low as 8,000 in the southern Sierra Nevada mountains due to "an unseasonably cool area of low pressure aloft" the Hanford NWS website read.
