    taps at interment of 1st Lt. Kile G. West last Memorial Day

    Spc. Chris Beery of Nampa, Idaho, plays Taps during the interment of 1st Lt. Kile G. West last June at the Central Texas State Veterans Cemetery in Killeen, Texas, after West and others were killed in Abu Sayda, Iraq, last Memorial Day during Operation Iraqi Freedom. He had been assigned to duty at Fort Hood and was a graduate of Hutto High School near Austin.

     

    This was the most moving service I have ever attended. I shot this photo while working for The Hutto News.

     

     

    This Memorial Day, I wish Kile's family much peace.
