I remember when gas was about to hit 2.00 and I was flippin' out then. I swore I would buy a bike and ride to work that way before I paid 2.00 a gallon. Now, several years later, I'm about to pay 4.00 a gallon! What a sick joke! It really makes one wonder how these oil execs sleep at night? Oh wait, I know already, in a bed full of your's and mine money!

My husband and I decided a while back to start car pooling. It's one way we're pinching our budget.  As gas goes up so does everything else. It's blown both our minds how fast, almost over night really, how basic things like food has sky rocketed. We pinch our budget each pay period more and more and it never seems enough. We no longer take "Sunday afternoon rides", we pick one day out of the week to run errands, we're hardly eating out anymore (I love to cook so that's no issue really), and we think twice before buying anything (even something as simple as ice cream... it's not like we both really need it anyway!). We've even sold one of our cars on Ebay!

We have three cars (Had I should say) between the two of us. All are paid for so we decided to sell one and put the money to better use (like savings!). Since we're car pooling, why have one just sitting there, looking pretty?  If there's a day we have to drive seperate (Which isn't often), he can take "his baby" (Trooper) and I can take the CRV. Even if gas goes down, which we highly doubt, I'm not sure we'll get another car because at the rate we're going, we're saving more than we've ever been able too before. Some folks think we're nuts and say it's not worth the headache to drive together; we think very differently and our bank account is proof!
