GM: What’s the solution? |
GM-BANKRUPT!!!!
this is absolutely hilarious, in a very angering way. GM, the troubled auto maker, is now bankrupt. In an article on cnbc,(url:http://www.cnbc.com/id/30189855/), Phil labeau stated that "bankruptcy may be the best option". Predicitons vary, but overall value in GM cars, as well as sales predictions do not expect to take a huge hit. According to some in the article, values are expected to drop, just not as much as we thought. Why? For one, the government is backing GM, which should give the public some sense of security. Two, GM is not going out of business. Share values are continuing to fall, but some experts say that the company should hold up.
What do I have to say about it? I think it's a load of junk. Yeah, GM contributes a lot to our GDP, but I'm sick and tired of GM getting one bailout after another with no results. Instead, they decide to spend our money on dumb commercials in which they claim to be "reinventing themselves", but we all know what that means. GM has proven time and time again that they cannot be responsible enough to get themselves back on their feet. I GM truly wanted to "re-invent themselves, they would find a whole new executive and board lineup. However, the blame does not fall completely on them. The government has almost been promoting this kind of behavior by sending them billions after billions of our tax dollars, saying "let's reward you for doing the wrong thing". The government needs to realize that GM is nothing but a bad investment that they need to let go of. Going bankrupt will not rid the fat cats of their greed, only fuel it. If you file for bankruptcy, you do not have to repay the government for the aid that you recieve. Can you say "BONUS TIME???!!!". All in all, I am ready, willing, and able to let our country's economy take a big hit in order to teach greedy executives and careless boards of directors that stupid business plans and behavior will not be rewarded.
