This iReport is part of an assignment:
New in town? Getting online help |
My online dating experience
I placed an ad along with a headshot, on Craig's List a few months ago at the suggestion of a friend who said she found a really great guy. I was quite specific, stating I was looking for an erudite man who was a Democrat. I believe the ad is still in my file at C.L. The responses were as follows:
Two men sent me pictures of their erect organs. Another began his response with "I may be going out on a limb" and then proceeded to describe his fantasy. . Two men are friends of mine and married but couched their reasons for looking for women "to see if I know anyone." I was amazed they let me know of their searches.
Two men sounded normal. One said he would contact me when he returned from Las Vegas. Never heard from him. The other was an architect. I sent a response to him saying I did not know any architects, except for George Constanza (from Seinfeld) but he wasn't much of an architect. Never heard from him again. I guess my joke fell flat.
I had other responses excoriating me for requesting a Democrat as well as other reasons.
Then, my ad was pulled from Craig's List. I was notified that I didn't comply with C.L. rules. I guess because I wouldn't play nice with the boys. I suppose I am destined to be single. I won't be placing another ad on C.L.
