This iReport is part of an assignment:
New in town? Getting online help |
James and Trish
I never intended on finding my husband online, but one day he messaged me and we became fast friends. He and I were both members of a website called okcupid.com (technically it's a dating site, but we were on it for the goofy quizzes and tests.) He found my page by searching for people who liked a band he liked near his hometown. He saw we had a lot of the same unique interests by reading my profile and wanted to talk to me because I looked "sad" in a picture I had posted. For the first few months we wrote each other every day and remained just friends, but learning a great deal about each other in that time. We finally met when I flew to Japan to see him as he was stationed in Okinawa while in the US Army. We both knew we were right for each other and 2 months later, while he was on leave, we were married. That was in February, 2006. These last 3+ years have been fantastic. My husband separated from the Army earlier this year and now we're about to move to Germany with our precious dog, Layla. I look forward to traveling the world with him by my side. Before this I had never dated or met anyone from the Internet.
