An official radio- studio is being built in a container at the race village for Stockholm Stopover.

It is the voices of legendary anchors Jesse Wallin and Martin Loogna who will guide you through this Stopover. With their staff they transform their regular radio- station “Skärgårdsradion” (The archipelago radio- station) into the official radio- station of VolvoOceanRace with the same name at the frequency 91.9.

From the south archipelago to the north do the V70 sailors head out on Sunday. It is the 9th leg and the finish is at the traditional sailor- island of Sandhamn.

    -      Sandhamn is where we broadcast from during the summer. Therefore it is special for us to be the official radio station, we will broadcast on two frequencies and it will be a challenge, but we love it says, Jesse.

In order to reach out Micke, the technician, climbed at the roof of the city studio in order to place the transmitter-antenna 80 meters above ground- level.

    -      It was raining cats and dogs but now we reach to Stockholm and its surroundings, says Micke.

Last night me and Micke had a chat at Facebook, he was then building links and antennas and smart technique stuffs, felt like talking to IQ in James Bond, these will make it possible to be on air tomorrow morning at the Grand Opening.
