LIVE NOW! VIA VIRTUAL VOLUNTEER - CAN-DO @ THE CROW CREEK INDIAN RESERVATION

CAN-DO is focused on working with the local community to meet their immediate survival needs while promoting long-term sustainability, improved quality of life, and community revitalization through comprehensive, community-led solutions. Together, Peter Lengkeek and the Crow Creek Reservation in coordination with CAN-DO are working tirelessly to help bring the ongoing abuses to light and together have developed a comprehensive plan focused on sustainable solutions to promote energy independence, economic development, and most importantly, cultural preservation.

As a core component of the project, the Community Greenhouse Initiative was designed to provide a replicable, community-based model that provides fresh, locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs for the local community while also promoting an additional source of revenue. The Community Greenhouse will provide a model of BACKYARD BUSINESS where the community members are able to nourish their own families and have a sustainable source of income.

The Crow Creek Community enlisted the help of CAN-DO, an organization committed to working at the local level to providing lasting solutions with full accountability, efficiency, and results. Utilizing their proven approach, CAN-DO is addressing the operation at the Crow Creek Indian Reservation on the local level to raise the nation's awareness of the urgent human right abuses taking place in the South Dakota region and bring about a positive change by revitalizing this community and at the same time preserving this forgotten culture.

From June 8th – 22nd, CAN-DO (www.can-do.org) is building the Community Greenhouse on the Crow Creek Indian Reservation, broadcasting live on VirtualVolunteer.tv to demonstrate to donors, media, and leaders worldwide the impact of their involvement in creating this vital initiative in the nation’s poorest county. VirtualVolunteer.tv (www.virtualvolunteer.tv) enables donors, family members, and even those affected by disasters or crises to directly participate in critical relief efforts, vastly improving efficiency, accountability, and transparency in efforts that are often laden with bureaucracy and red tape.
