Silent protest in Tehran supporting Mousavi
As Mir Hossein Mousavi had asked people, hundreds of thounds of supporters protested silently today. Although rumors were spread about the protest being called off, by 5pm the major ave of Azadi was full of people.
Mousavi joined the people along with his wife, as well as Karroubi (the other reformist candidate) and Karbaschi (former mayor of Tehran and a known reformist figure). For the most part the demonestration was silent, with people holding hands and signs up - all decorated green.
People closer to the west end of Azadi ave, in front of Sharif university, broke the siience and started chanting together - one would hear the following:
"As long as Ahmadinejad is here, the situation stays the same."
"With all of this going on, where is the national media covering?"
"Cheating... 1%, maybe 2%, not 53%!"
Apparently there has been some shooting, but not where I was. I did not see or hear anything.
