More expensive to eat |
The Milkman Returns
I reported earlier about buying milk from a local dairy. The milk is more naturally produced, without growth hormone or antibiotics. This is closer to my philosophy on food, and it is cheaper too!
I decided to share this dairy's milk with my co-workers now. Every Monday, I collect orders for milk that they want, they pay me the cost for the milk, and I buy it and bring it in the next morning, since I pass by the dairy on my way in. A little effort that helps several people.
This is a great way to save people some money on their food bill, gives them a more natural product, and it is also a good way to meet other workers that you do not work with normally. The first week started with about 1 1/2 gallons, and next week, I should be bringing in about 6 1/2 gallons! Who wants to pay $4 for a gallon of milk, when you can get it for less than $3?
For the equivalent, organic milk, the cost is over $7 a gallon! Send a message to these commercial farmers by sharing with your co-workers locally produced milk, and support your local business!
