Is Iran the Success of the Iraq war?

The Middle east is the last place to have any type of democracy. And yet it looks like it's happening. Could it be because of the presence of a Free Iraq, inspired real democracy in Iran? As a democrat it's hard for me to even say that, but I have to wonder if this is the case. For that reason alone, I still believe we need to let the Iranian people decide their own future. If they become democratic on their own, then it would be the first muslim nation to do so. And that's important. We are also seeing a sever shift in politics and culture in Iran. A firm grasp of technology by the young to use cell phones and laptop to communicate to the world so that the will of the people would not be suppressed or  hidden. We could be witnessing the first revolution supported by a social networking site, twitter. If it turns out a battle between the young and the old, it looks like the old got beaten.
