This iReport is part of an assignment:
Bonding with Dad |
Daddy's girl
My first year in college, I had planned to remain on campus for Labor Day.That is until other students began leaving and I was struck with a major onset of home sickness. I called home that Friday night, as always, and after speaking with my parents and silently crying on the telephone for about 15 minutes. I heard those words every child-no matter how old loves to hear-"I'm coming to get you honey , be ready." Two hours later my parents had driven over 100 miles to take me home for the weekend.
This event occurred in 1982, I was 18 and very much a Daddy's girl. Somethings never change Today I am 45 and have a family of my own. I still love my Dad more than anything-he was always there when I needed him. I lost my Dad a year ago this month and think of him every day. I love you Daddy. Always.
