This iReport is part of an assignment:
Action figure collecting (with kung fu grip) |
Lord Of The Rings Collection
Updated in subsequent post............
I have always been a fanatic of Lord Of the Rings & The Hobbit having read the books every year from early teens.
Initially I started collecting action figures in the runup to the release of Jackson's trilogy. This collection morphed into all forms of memorabillia most high quality and sad to say some downright tacky - statues, busts, replica weaponry, chess sets, movie banners, flags and so on. So much so that the dedicated 'Middle Earth Room' in the house just isn't big enough any more and most of my action figures are relegated to storage in the loft.
Fortunately my wife is very tolerant and my daughter even has the same fixiation with the collection - though thankfully she does not need any therapy like me yet.
They have even forgiven me for the latest addition being the Balrog Wall Monument which is to say the least preposterous weiging in at 80 lbs and over four feet across. It was cheap (relatively!) in a sale.
But I have no regrets on the hobby - it cost a lot but I remain as keen as ever on them and many are now worth a lot of money - so when I pop someone will benefit one way or other!.
