Unrest in Iran |
Neda Burial Site
Come respectfully for the beloved Neda, the martyr for freedom is resting in peace here.
She was 26, student of phylosophy when allegedly shot in the chest and killed by Bajij militia forces of government in Tehran protests in 20th of June. She was buried under heavy military control and censorship of media (absolutely no coverage) while no one except her parents and fiance were permited to attend. The government did not allow holding any funeral for her and buried her silently in unknown position. Her burial site was just revealed. These are the first images from her burial site. According to her fiance who was present there, the adjucent graves all belong to protesters who were killed on 20 June and buried under complete media censorship with no funeral ceremony or presence of relatives and friends. This is huge insult according to our believes.
The head stone is the temporary one which is installed initially on the burial day. Head stone says:
Burial site: Tehran, Behesht Zahra, grid=257, row=41, num=32
She is the face of our green movement now, a martyr for freedom.
Neda died with her eyes open, Shame on us to live with eyes closed.
For freedom we stand.
