Texas Surgeon Operates on Afghan Children

Dr. Keith Rose, a plastic surgeon from Corpus Christi, Texas, volunteers 4 months out of the year at the CURE International hospital in Kabul, Afghanistan, operating on children such as the little boy in the picture, who are born with cleft lip/palate, have burns, injuries or other facial deformities, helping them to have a more normal life in this country plagued by high infant and child mortality rates. Dr. Rose also helps train local Afghan medical personnel, helping to bring medical care in this country up to first world standards. The Afghanis have great appreciation for Dr. Rose and his colleagues at CURE International (www.cureinternational.org) for showing kindness and compassion, and helping this struggling nation into the 21st Century, medically.
