Show us your commute |
An hour and a half each way!
I moved into the Puget Sound area back in 2000 and started working for the military as a contractor. I even bought a house here in Bremerton thinking that I had a great future! That was until about 2003 when I was laid off due to our contract not being renewed so I had to look for work elsewhere.
Fortunately, I found a great job in downtown Seattle... the downside is that it is across the sound and an hour and a half commute each way!
I get up at 6am each morning to make my bus by 6:30am, the bus gets me to the ferry dock by 7:10am and the ferry leaves at 7:20am. The ride across the sound is about an hour and then I walk from the ferry dock in downtown Seattle to my workplace and am at work by 9am. I leave work at 5pm to get to the ferry by 5:30pm and am usually home by 7:20pm... so my 8 hour work day turns into almost a 12 hour day!
Gotta love my commute! If the cost of living wasn't so high in Seattle I'd actually consider moving there... but for now, unless things change, I'm at home in Bremerton.
