My mother had a brain tumor removed, She was prescribed seizure medication. She was having problems with balance and mood. A neurologist changed her seizure medication to make her better. That seizure medication caused a seizure or stroke made her unable to walk or talk. Also caused dementia.She was put back into rehab for three to 4 months, sent home because insurance wouldn't pay any more.put back on original medication. Given pain medication that was outdated and caused addiction, and balance problems. she fell, fractured foot. I had to take off work. lost Job. Doctors didn't change anything.  She continued to loose balance and fall, fractured shoulder. I pleaded with emergency doctor to re-evaluate medications. She was sent home after a week because medicare woudt pay for rehab unable to feed herself or go to bathroom, Pleaded with primary doctor, she went back to rehab. She went thru serious withdrawal. Emergency doctor changed pain medication, While in rehab she had to see other doctors for X-rays, They charged her $900 to be taken to Doctors office. and another $900 dollars to bring her back to nursing home. Payment  is still in debate.

The cost of health care is too high. The medicare system is being abused by all of the services that are paid by it. I would say that it would be equivalent to the government being charged $500.00 for a toilet seat that can be purchased for $35. This issue will be a hard one to solve . One solution is to follow the lead of blue cross blue shield who I think does a better job Of monitoring payments issued out to doctors and services. Of coaures some of these services are needed but a better monitoring system has to be created and in place. First you would need a team of medical experts to evaluate all medical conditions, their cures, or remedies, Create a new department, Kind of like the IRS FOR MEDICAL PAYMENTS specifically for monitoring all bills being paid to doctors and services. Most patients dont know enough about medical issues to challenge a doctors advice,or course of treatment.Because many doctors know this AND MANY DOCTORS ARE IN IT TO MAKE MONEY FIRST,they wont admit it. They use a cash cow called Medicare that doesn't have the monitoring system to question bills sent. Too many loop holes that only another doctor can question.Their are many remedies that can cost less but wont bring profit to the doctor...The doctor is more likely to choose the one that brings more profit Why is health care costing more?, because the doctors are charging more. Why are doctors Charging more ? Because they can get away with it and do.When I look at some of the bills that go to medicare for my mothers illnesses I am shocked at what doctors and associated service,Xrays, etc are charging. Would it be cheaper to educate the public on how to take care of ones own medical issues. A Telephone line manned by govt. trained doctors armed with human diagnostic computer programs to evaluate and recommend over the phone.(Its within the reach of today's technology) Translate the doctors medical terms so the public can understand it Use laymen's terms.self diagnostic patient interactive programs. If it doesn't exist create it. Type in an ailments and you get a cure and course of action to help heal yourself, . Stop charging for information when it comes to health care. I see info mercials all the time making health care claims, are they viable? Investigate, If their claims are legit make them available to the public. If they are not shut them down.It might be more cost effective for the govt. to counter false adds and cures by posting the truth over the Internet, or tv. Rather than have a costly court battle. Also consider this, some illnesses and conditions are environmentally induced. REMEMBER THIS: Our environment includes That which we see in commercials, tv. radio. They do HAVE AN IMPACT ON ONES LIFE AND LIFE STYLE. THE GOVT. SHOULD HOST ITS OWN HEALTH STATION,WITH CURES FOR THE COMMON CONDITIONS Thanks Carl scorpi2000
