Madoff sentenced to 150 years
The NY court just sentenced Madoff to 150 years for stealing 150 billion.
Thats a year for each billion.
I'd serve a year, for a billion, wouldn't you?
Still, he may be out after serving half his sentence, if he exhibits "dead behavior"
Seriously - 150 years is excessive for a financial crime, isn't it? This - excessive punishment - is a defacto acknowledgement that the government feels guilty for not catching and stopping this turdball earlier.
Why not imprison some of the regulators who messed up then?
