Gale Storm, Multi Talent of the 50's 1922-2009

The Baby Boomers will remember Gale Storm as the sweet and mischievous "My Little Margie" from the 1950's sitcom.   She played the young daughter of a widower father, who always seemed to get herself into a heap of trouble.  She endeared herself to television viewers of all ages. I have fun memories of my mother and I sharing those TV moments of "My Little Margie" and "The Gale Storm Show: Oh! Susanna." when I was a little girl.

Gale began her career in movies, moving onto television and radio then a recording career.  Her first record was a rhythm and blues song "I Hear You Knocking," and was No. 2 on the Billbaord chart in 1955.  A few more songs that I can remember were "Ivory Tower", "Dark Moon" and "Why Do Fools Fall in Love?"

She received three stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Television, Radio and Recordings.

I appreciate the laughter and fun that she brought into our house via the "Picture Tube".
