Remembering Michael Jackson |
Jackson Five at Rose Parade 1974
When I was 14, we were at the Rose Parade which was a yearly event for us even tho we live in Southern California but what made this day extra special was when the Arco float broke down thus making the Jackson Five's float have to idle right in front of us for about 20 minutes. Of course everyone was running up to Michael and asking for his autograph and he was such a sweet kid. He was more than glad to talk to everyone and sign their autographs. So while ABC played over and over on the float, I met Michael Jackson and his brothers and have always cherished this day in my memory. I never believed any of the child molestation charges against him. I truly believe that he just wanted a childhood that he never had and felt happiest with the kids doing the things he was always forbidden by his controlling father Joe. I watched an interview not long ago where he stated he just wanted to ride bikes, climb trees and do things that other kids got to do that he never did. He was just a 50 year old kid at heart just like me. Michaels death is a huge loss and I personally will miss him. REST WELL WITH THE ANGELS MICHAEL!! My heart goes out to your family and children.
