DO YOU NEED A JOB? Tips to help you find work:
Here are a few Key tips to help you get a job:
- Key # 1-Although sending resumes online or by fax helps you cover more territory, you will find that a personal touch says a lot. Consider following up a day later after your submission; stop by and visit the employer. As an employer, I always hired those that showed interest and had good references.
- Key # 2-Take a job seminar, call your local city community-training center or local work force, usually free classes are offered to help you prepare your resume and train you for an interview.
- Key # 3- Become an asset, make it a point of showing the employer that you would be a great asset, by either pointing out your high points, or how you would make his company grow or save money. Example: Tell the employer that you are willing to open up and close for him, usually employers like employees that make their workday easier. You can also say that you are willing to work weekends, holidays, first impressions are always the best ones.
- Key # 4- When you get the job, you need to rise up to the occasion. Work harder than your companions, if you are asked to sweep a floor, mop it also. If you are asked to research something for your boss, detail your work using index cards, references and link follow-ups, go that extra mile. I’m sure you get the point, work harder, faster, and if you don’t know something ask, employers prefer you asking, rather than you loosing time trying to figure it out…
